Synopsis: This international symposium was triggered by the Joint Symposium between Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) of Malaysia and nine colleges of technology (KOSEN) located in the Kyushu-Okinawa region of Japan, which was held in 2017 as one of the collaborative projects. Based on this collaboration, ISIE was planned as a global project of KOSEN in 2018. This year, Kitakyushu College presided over the meeting and UTP is the coordinator of the Malaysia side. The purpose of ISIE is to provide UTP and KOSEN students with the opportunity to give presentations in English and exchange ideas on their research. This experience will be a great treasure for all students in the future. It is hoped that this symposium will foster a global mindset for many Japanese students in particular.
